A Short Update

Hello to the loyal few who will see this. It has been a while since my last post. Seminary and work has kept me busy. I plan to start posting semi-regularly again though. I have some school assignments that could be the basis of a few articles so I will see where that take me. Otherwise I hope to have at least 1 article up per month. I’m going to try to go with a shorter from of article than i have been. In the past I have aimed to write between 800 and 1000 words, this is common for most theological blogs I’ve looked at, but with my time constraints I am thinking about aiming for 300-500 word posts not counting quotes and scripture.

A New Direction and New Opportunities

Though I haven’t been writing any articles in my free time I have not neglected the practice of writing. In fact, I am writing more in my free time now than when I was posting here somewhat regularly. Some of that writing has been personal journaling, but I have also taken up writing fiction. Soon I will put out an announcement with more details, but I am going to start publishing some of my stories on this site in a fiction section. I might call it “Coffee Table Fantasy” or something like that, the name is a work in progress. But I will post more on that at a later date when I decide on a more concrete direction.

Another area where I have been sharpening my writing skills is with the Spurgeon Library at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have started helping the library in their research efforts and that also affords me the privilege of writing articles on Charles Spurgeon’s life and teachings. I have already written two articles for them and hope to write more. I am thankful for the opportunity because it is the first time I have articles being published in an official capacity. Here are the links to two of my articles published there already.

So as far as a schedule for posts goes, I would like to upload at least one article a month. I think that is more than doable for me with the schedule I’m on. Some months ill post just one theological article, some it might be an article or a short story, and others it might be more. Overall I think I am now in a habit of writing enough that a monthly or bimonthly post is not outside of the realms of possibility. That is all for now, if you have any suggestions or article prompts throw them in the comments and I’ll consider them.
